"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or gazelle - when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Taste Test Tuesday 1/12

Turkey Burgers
Ingredients

* 3 pounds ground turkey
* 1/4 cup bread crumbs ( I used equally parts rolled oats and wheat germ blended in the magic bullet)
* 1/8 cup finely diced onion
*1/8 cup diced bell peppers
* 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
* 2 tbs chopped fresh parsley
* 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1/4 c. feta cheese, optional

Directions

1. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, bread crumbs, onion, bell pepper, egg whites, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper and feta. Form into 12 patties2. Grill or cook the patties in a medium skillet over medium heat, turning onceI am not really sure what your supposed to put on a turkey burger I felt like I was supposed to put cranberry sauce or something on it, however I decided on avocado, spinach, mustard and havarti cheese on an orowheat thin. What would/do you put on a turkey burger???Really good I will be making these again for sure

Product I tried this week:

Ronzoni Whole Wheat Pasta: I found this at Costco where not really big pasta eaters but these worked in the couple of pasta recipes I do make and the family couldn't tell the difference.

MaraNatha Peanut Butter: last year was all about Almond Butter but in 2010 I am going back to my first love Peanut Butter and this is one of the best Organic PB's I've tasted. :)

The rolled oats and wheat germ is a pretty good idea. I haven't found wheat pasta that my family won't notice yet. Will give those a try. Thanks for taste testing!

Feta cheese in the burgers sounds really good. I'll have to try that recipe sometime.

Great idea on the bread crumbs! I use blue cheese - that is my husband's preference rather than feta.

These look great. I was just thinking the other day that I'm really hungry for a turkey burger.
